I contacted Yamaha through their website with my serial# and all they would say is what year it was made. It's a YAS62II (Stamped YAS62, serial number, made in Japan) the serial number starts with A263xxx.The motorcycle is beautifully restored and is elegant in its black livery with green tank panels artfully lined in gold pin striping. The serial number reflects the manufacture of the engine and not the chassis.
